 | Ewa Wycichowska is a dancer, choreographer and pedagogist. She is a graduate of the State Ballet College in Poznań and Warsaw Music Academy; and a holder of Paris L'Academy de la Dance scholarship; for many years she was a primabalerina of the Grand Theatre in Łódź. She is a member of ClD (under patronage of UNESCO).
Ms. Wycichowska is one of the few Polish dancers to success on the world ballet stages both with classical and modern repertoire. Her creations in Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, Copelia, Medea, Fire Bird, Snow White, Midsummer Night's Dream, Wolfgang Amadeus, Carmen as well as in her own choreography in Faust Goes Rock and Possessed Fiddler have found their place in the history of ballet. Wycichowska has danced on almost all continents, representing Polish Ballet at festivals in Peru, Canada, Mongolia, France, Greece, Spain, Israel, England, and Japan. She has frequently served as jury member during Polish and international ballet festivals. In 1980 she made her debut as a choreographer, staging A Woman's Voice with music by K. Knittel. She is also an author of over 60 choreographic works, such as F minor Concert with music by F. Chopin, Stabat Mater by K. Szymanowski , Spring Feast by I. Strawiński, Concert Symphony Es major by W.A. Mozart, Devil in Goraj by K. Knittel, Harnaś Fantasia and Polish Exodus by W. Kilar, Dangerous Liaisons by J.S. Bach and E. Satie (staged in Poland, Italy, USA and Germany). |

Wycichowska is also an honourable member of Wacław and Romola Niżyński`s Fund in New York. She has been awarded various prizes, including The Medal of 200 Anniversary of Polish Ballet, Stanisław Wyspiański`s Award of 1st range, Wacław Niżyński`s Medal, Fringe First Special Award in Edinburgh, " Ad Perpetum Rei Memoriam " Medal. She also has been awarded a title of The Woman of the Year in 1993. This year Ewa Wycichowska has been awarded the Z A I K S 's AWARD for the whole of choreographic work. |  |
